Board Briefs: March 11, 2025
Here are a few highlights from the March 11 board meeting (the agenda packet is available):
Board hears update on the Facilities Master Plan and approves rubric
Staff provided an update on the district’s updated Facilities Master Plan. The board also approved the rubric for future project development and implementation.
With the potential for future bond measures and the passage of Measure P General Obligation Bond in November 2024 for $950 million, the Board of Education requested a Facilities Master Plan update be developed as a tool for planning Measure P and a long-term roadmap and vision for the district's facilities needs.
The plan consists of comprehensive assessments of the physical conditions, educational environments and cost analysis of each campus and support sites. To effectively plan for future modernizations, the master plan consists of educational goals, updated site and building plan concepts, useful life data of major building systems, demographic analysis, state funding opportunities, capacity, utilization, deferred maintenance and a scoring rubric to assist in making data-driven decisions for project implementation. The completed master plan and public-facing interactive tool will go live in June 2025. The presentation is available for viewing here.
