More than a dozen new arts education teaching positions available across San Juan Unified

Arts education is an important component of a student’s well-rounded education. That is why the San Juan Unified School District is expanding arts programs and expanding access to the arts in our schools using funds from Proposition 28.

Proposition 28, passed by California voters in 2022, guarantees that all of the funds for public school districts support arts education including visual arts, music, theater, dance, and other arts education experiences.

More than a dozen new teaching positions in arts education are now available throughout San Juan Unified. These openings will support the district’s strong theater, music and visual arts programs in schools across the district.

Openings include teaching positions in visual art, dance, digital media, theater, and music.

While the majority of Proposition 28 funds are for staffing, some funds will be used for arts education supplies, equipment, curriculum and professional learning.
