Preparing new learners for their educational journey with Camp Kinder

This summer, San Juan Unified School District welcomed incoming kindergarten students to Camp Kinder, a two-week program designed to help young learners build confidence and prepare for their first day of school.

Designed for students with little to no prior school experience, Camp Kinder introduces children to important classroom routines and expectations in a fun, camp-themed environment. Whether students have attended preschool, transitional kindergarten (TK) or are entering a classroom for the first time, the program helps them become familiar with their new school, practice everyday routines like circle time and using the restroom, and develop foundational social and early academic skills.
