government agencies such as the California Employment Development Department, Department of Industrial Relations, U.S. Army and California Department of Public Health. Representatives provided information about job openings, application processes and adult education programs.

“The goal is to help individuals, especially those for whom English is a second language, access job opportunities and community resources,” said Shazia Nabizadah, college and career technician from the district’s Adult Education program. “We encourage families to attend events like this to learn about job opportunities and adult education options available to them.”

One participant shared that the job fair was a chance to explore new paths. He spoke with the U.S. Army recruiters about enlistment requirements and said he is interested in joining.

Another attendee, Akbar Kaihan, said the event helped him better understand how to navigate the American employment system.

The event highlighted San Juan Unified’s ongoing commitment to connecting families with resources that promote inclusion, career growth and lifelong learning.
