Summer construction across San Juan Unified

Summer construction across San Juan Unified

This summer, construction took place across multiple school sites, bringing upgrades to classrooms, athletic spaces and campus facilities.

Projects included new fencing at James Cowan Fundamental Elementary School and Green Oaks Fundamental Elementary School; improvements to the locker rooms at Mira Loma High School; demolition in the San Juan High School science wing; and new furniture in select spaces at San Juan High.

These projects, funded through San Juan Unified’s bond program, are part of an ongoing investment in modern, functional and welcoming spaces that support students, staff and the school community.

The project includes improvements to student locker rooms, showers, team rooms and equipment rooms, as well as upgrades to lighting, plumbing, heating and air conditioning.

San Juan High School science wing modernization

Demolition has begun in the science wing at San Juan

Demolition has begun in the science wing at San Juan as the space will soon be transformed into modern, innovative learning environments designed to support hands-on learning, collaboration and student success.

The completed project will include two chemistry classrooms, three life science classrooms, two additional classrooms, a maker’s space, teacher prep space, family resource center, modernized restrooms and a small courtyard.

New furniture has also been added across campus, further enhancing the learning environment for students and staff. Visit San Juan’s science wing modernization construction page for more information on the project.
