Welcome to the 2026-27 school year! Whether you’re joining San Juan Unified for the first time or returning for another exciting year, we are so glad you’re a part of our community. Our first day of school is Thursday, Aug. 13, and our staff has been working hard to prepare for a successful start.

This year, we remain committed to providing engaging learning experiences, safe and welcoming schools, and strong partnerships with families as we help every student learn, grow and thrive.

Complete your Annual Student Information Update
Please log in to the Parent Portal to update your student's emergency contacts, complete the school funding form by Aug. 31 and review the 2026-27 Family Handbook. Keeping this information current helps us communicate with you, ensures schools receive important funding and provides access to valuable district resources.

Review our updated Mobile Device Policy
Beginning this school year, personal mobile devices must remain stored throughout the school day at elementary, K-8 and middle schools under our updated "Away for the Day" policy. This change is designed to reduce distractions, strengthen student engagement and create learning environments where students can focus, connect and thrive.

Learn about our updated E-Transportation Policy
If your student rides an e-bike, scooter or other electric transportation device to school, please review our updated policy before the first day. The webpage outlines which devices are permitted on campus, along with important age, licensing and helmet requirements to help keep students safe.

As you prepare for the year ahead, one of the most important ways you can support your child's success is by making school attendance a priority. Every day in the classroom provides opportunities for students to build relationships, strengthen their learning and stay connected to their school community.
