Our District
History and Background
San Juan Unified is a diverse school district serving students and families in a 75-square-mile area covering the communities of Arden-Arcade, Carmichael, Citrus Heights, Fair Oaks, Gold River and Orangevale in eastern Sacramento County. Created in 1960 with the merger of six school districts, San Juan Unified has a rich tradition of helping students find academic success and achievement.
San Juan Unified serves more than 40,000 preschool, TK-12 and adult learners at 64 schools and employs more than 5,000 professionals.
