The brand new Arden Middle School campus debuted for the first day of school in August 2021 and has the capacity to accommodate 1,200 students. The new campus features next-generation classrooms, science classrooms, art spaces, independent living room, broadcast media studio, library, physical education facilities and outdoor quad spaces/amphitheater.

John Barrett Middle School underwent modernization and now boasts a new multipurpose room, science wing, a new outdoor quad area in the center of campus, brand new administration building, fully upgraded classrooms, improved student pick-up and drop-off area, physical education fields and an upgraded cafeteria. This project officially concluded in December 2022.
Del Paso Manor Elementary received a full campus renovation and debuted in August 2020. The new campus features 29 next-generation classrooms, a new administration building, a multipurpose room and kitchen, and hardcourts/playgrounds.

The two-story Dyer-Kelly campus is the first brand new elementary school to be built in San Juan Unified since Gold River Discovery Center in 1992, and is designed to meet the needs of its diverse Arden-Arcade neighborhood. Every classroom wing contains a theme from a different continent with a “Main Street” and hallways that connect students and teachers to collaborative learning environments. The main entrance includes an indoor amphitheater that can be used for small assemblies and presentations. The new campus debuted in August 2019. Watch a video to learn more.

Greer Elementary's renovated campus debuted in January 2020. The project included a complete renovation of two classroom wings and a brand-new kindergarten building, multi-purpose room and administration building. Spaces for collaboration, moveable furniture, multiple writing walls in each classroom and access to technology are key features in all classrooms. The campus also includes a new parking lot and entrance on Bell Street, moving those features off of the busy Hurley Way. Watch a video to learn more.
The new Sylvan Middle School campus debuted in August 2016, after the district's $25 million investment from Measure N to renovate the former Citrus Heights Elementary School. The middle school’s state-of-the-art campus features next-generation classrooms, media center, four large science labs, a STEAM lab for tinkering and innovation, music room and physical education locker rooms.

The middle school’s state-of-the-art campus features next-generation classrooms, media center, four large science labs, a STEAM lab for tinkering and innovation, music room and physical education locker rooms.
High School Signature Projects
The Board of Education voted unanimously on Feb. 24, 2015 to accept staff's recommendation of the Measure N Signature Project program.
The San Juan Unified community pledged its support to the district’s vision of bringing all schools up to 21st century standards by approving Measure N, a $350 million facilities bond, in 2012. District leaders have identified $2.4 billion in school improvement needs, and Measure N will help the District begin addressing those needs.
San Juan Unified is dedicating a significant portion of Measure N to build signature projects at each of the district’s comprehensive high schools. You can view completed signature projects below.
Mesa Verde High School's signature stadium project was completed in Oct. 2023. The project includes amenities such as a new state-of-the-art football stadium, refurbished tennis courts, a marked running track and renovated locker rooms.
A next-generation science wing opened at Bella Vista High School in August 2017. This signature project includes 11 classrooms and labs, along with a unique 5,000-square-foot "flex space". Watch this video to learn more about the new space.
Casa Roble Fundamental High School's new student union, media space and administrative building debuted in August 2020, providing a more "college-like" feel to the campus.

San Juan Unified celebrated the opening of El Camino Fundamental High School's new Center for the Arts in December 2018, which features a 500-seat theater. Watch this video to learn more about the new space.
Mira Loma High School's new science wing debuted in August 2020 and features classrooms built for chemistry, biology and other sciences, as well as an outdoor learning space on the second floor.
Rio Americano High School's new Center for the Arts debuted in August 2017 and features a 350-seat auditorium with a floor-level stage, a lobby and two music classrooms. Watch this video to learn more about the new space.
