Project Updates

Purpose and Timeline

Encina High School will experience a full-campus modernization, which includes interior renovations of all classrooms and modernization of the cafeteria, administrative building, locker rooms and library. Existing classroom buildings O and Q will be demolished to make room for new science classrooms.

This modernization project directly follows the departure of Katherine Johnson Middle School from Encina's campus, to its new location on Kent Drive.

  • Jan. 2025 - Phase One of modernization began (Classrooms D, H, J and G2)
  • Feb. 2025 - Phase Two of modernization began (Classrooms room G1, L, N, E1, E4)
  • Summer 2025 - Demolition of Classrooms O and Q projected to begin; front office to be temporarily located to the north side of campus
  • Aug. 28, 2025 - Groundbreaking ceremony for the new science building
  • Fall 2026 - Completion of modernization projects
