San Juan High School is set to begin a highly anticipated stadium modernization project, with a groundbreaking ceremony scheduled for May 20 at 9 a.m.

Community members, alumni and supporters are invited to join the celebration. The event will feature remarks from students and staff, and guests will have the opportunity to take part in a ceremonial groundbreaking photo.

Project Background

San Juan Unified is in the planning stage of an update of the stadium at San Juan High School, funded by the district's bond program. The project will include:

A new synthetic track and field
Two new tennis courts
A new ticket booth, concession area and restroom building

Construction partners on this project include Robert A. Bothman Construction and 6D PMCM.

Timeline

April 2025 - Mobilization and demolition begin
May 20, 2025 - Groundbreaking ceremony at 9 a.m.
Summer 2026 - Tentative project completion
