Shaping the Future of Learning: Cellphone Policy Input
San Juan Unified is committed to providing a focused and safe learning environment for all students. As technology evolves, so must our approach to its use in schools. That's why we're developing a new policy regarding student cellphone and connected device use in accordance with AB 3216. This policy will help us balance the potential benefits of technology with the need to minimize distractions, address behavioral concerns, and ensure student safety, including preventing issues like cyberbullying.
Why a Cellphone Policy Matters
Unrestricted cellphone use in schools can create significant challenges. It can disrupt classroom instruction, making it difficult for students to concentrate and learn. It can also contribute to behavioral issues, create social divisions, and even lead to safety concerns like cyberbullying. Our goal is to create a clear and consistent policy that supports effective teaching and learning while fostering a positive and respectful school climate.
