Expanded Learning Opportunities Program
The Expanded Learning Opportunities Program (ELO-P) provides funding for afterschool and summer school enrichment programs for students in transitional kindergarten through sixth grade. San Juan Unified School District’s Expanded Learning programs are open to all students in elementary, K-8 and middle schools, with priority enrollment for students who qualify under the McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act, Foster Youth, English Learners, and students eligible for free or reduced-price meals. The district’s Expanded Learning programs are aligned with California Education Code (EC) Section 46120 amended by AB 181 (Chapter 52, Statutes of 2022), AB 185 (Chapter 571, Statutes of 2022), SB 114 (Chapter 48, Statutes of 2023), and AB 176 (Chapter 998, Statutes of 2024).
