Student MFA Guide
Why this matters
To help keep your accounts and personal information safe, our school is adding an extra layer of security called Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA).
This means that when you log in to your school accounts—like Google, Microsoft, or Clever—you’ll be asked to confirm it’s really you using a second step, such as a 6-digit PIN or image selection.
It’s quick, easy and helps protect you from hackers and other online threats.
This additional security measure does not require students to use a secondary device.
Setting up your MFA for the first time
- When you log in for the first time, you’ll see a “Let’s keep your account secure” screen. Click Next.
- You’ll be asked to set up a sign-in method. Click Next.
- On the final screen, click “Approve with Clever MFA”.
- You will be redirected to Clever to complete setup.
Choose your MFA method
- PIN option: Choose a PIN that is unique and only you would know.
- Picture option:

Once finished, click Done. You’ll see a confirmation that your sign-in method has been added.
Logging in with MFA
Each time you log in, you’ll be asked to use your selected MFA method.

- Select your chosen images
After completing this step, you’ll be redirected into your account.
If you forget your MFA or it’s not working
- Click “Can’t Login?”
- Ask your teacher for a one-time backup code
- Enter the code to sign in
This code allows you to bypass MFA one time only.
Alternatively, your teacher can reset your MFA, which means you will need to set it up again using the steps above.
