First three regional forums scheduled for October

People sitting at a table having a discussion The first three regional forums contributing to the revision of the 2019-2020 Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP) have been scheduled for Oct. 9, 10 and 14.

These forums provide an opportunity for school community teams to be involved, think about challenges and work together to promote new ideas for continuous improvement. The forums are also a way to incorporate input from the school community, in partnership with other district committees and stakeholder groups, to help create the district’s annual LCAP.

Forum participants will also have the opportunity to provide input to the new San Juan Unified Strategic Plan. Questions will be posed regarding valuable components of student education, district needs and ideas for building change through continuous improvement. School teams will be composed of students, parents, educators and community partners.

The dates and locations of the regional forums are as follows. Each forum will take place from 4-7 p.m. on their respective date.

School leaders can RSVP under their own name and hold spaces for other attendees accompanying them.

The Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP) is a state requirement as part of the historic Local Control Funding Formula (LCFF). Every school district in California must create an LCAP that describes how the needs of all students are being addressed and are tied to student outcomes in eight state priority areas. The LCAP document is revised each year to reflect current needs and priorities of students and the community.
