This week, the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) issued new guidance related to the use of face coverings by vaccinated individuals when outdoors.
While expected to do so, as of Thursday (4/29) afternoon, the California Department of Public Health and Sacramento County Public Health have not modified health orders requiring the use of face coverings for all individuals regardless of vaccination status. The district is required to comply with all standing health orders.
Once those health orders are modified, the district will review the new language to determine what changes are appropriate to face covering requirements on school campuses. Until then, all face covering requirements remain in effect for both students and adults when on school or district grounds.
Reminder: Thoughtexchange on combating learning loss closes April 30
Plans are being developed to provide support to help combat student learning loss due to the pandemic. Students, parents and community are invited to share their thoughts on what programs or efforts could help through a Thoughtexchange.
If you haven’t participated in a Thoughtexchange before, you’ll have the chance to share as many thoughts and ideas on how learning loss can be addressed next year or this summer. Then, you’ll get to see what others have shared and rank whether those ideas resonate with you.
