Your school and district websites are about to get a design update. Early last year the district conducted a number of focus groups with both parents and staff. Information and ideas shared in these focus groups helped to guide the new design.
The overall look and feel is now easier to navigate.
Improved mobile version of the site.
New design to be accessible for individuals with disabilities (screen readers, keyboard-only navigation, pointers, etc.).
Linkable directions to Google maps for school sites.
San Juan Unified’s social media feed is now located on our district’s homepage.
What stays the same?
Families will find frequently accessed pages in the same similar places where they are found on the current website. Parent and Student specific links for portal are still located at the top of the page in the same menu.
Highlighted news stories about your school and district will still display.
School sites will be updated to the new design on the following schedule:
District and department websites (Jan. 14)
Other Schools (week of Jan. 21) - includes Camp Winthers, La Vista, Laurel Ruff, Ralph Richardson and Adult Education
High Schools (week of Jan. 28)
Middle Schools (week of Feb. 4)
K-8 Schools (week of Feb. 11)
Elementary (week of Feb. 18)
The district would like to engage members of the community to help test the new design for accessibility. If you have a disability that benefits from the use of a screen reader, limits your ability to navigate a webpage with a mouse or any other disability requiring assistance viewing web pages, please register to be a tester.
