ELEVEN SAN JUAN UNIFIED STUDENTS NAMED AS SEMI FINALIST IN NATIONAL MERIT SCHOLARSHIP

Nine Mira Loma High School and two Bella Vista High School students were named as semi-finalists in the 66th annual National Merit Scholarship on Sept. 9.

The National Merit Scholarship Corporation named a total of 16,000 students from across the United States as semi-finalists this year.

These academically talented high school seniors have an opportunity to continue in the competition towards the more than 7,500 National Merit Scholarships worth more than $30 million that will be offered next spring.

National Merit Scholarship Corporation organizers say over 90 percent of the semi-finalists are expected to obtain finalist status, and more than half of the finalists will win a National Merit Scholarship, earning the Merit Scholar title.

You can view a list of San Juan Unified semi-finalists and the school they attend below.
