While preparing for holiday celebrations with your friends and family, it is important to stop and reflect on the blessings in our own life, while also being aware that not everyone is so fortunate. This year our students at Winston Churchill Middle School will be involved in the 6th annual toy drive benefitting Dyer-Kelly Elementary School. We are asking for donations of unwrapped $8-$12 toys. These toys will be given to the children right before winter break. This is a great opportunity for our students to receive the gift of giving and helping others in need. Our goal is to reach 750 presents, one for every student at our neighborhood elementary school. We encourage our students to “work” for their family to help purchase the donations. We would also love for students to spread the word of our toy drive to their extended families and friends to help us meet our goal of 750 toys!
Winston Churchill focuses on developing global citizens through The Learner Profile and by participating in whole school community service efforts!
Here’s how to participate:
Each homeroom will have a ‘buddy’ homeroom this year. The homeroom team will be assigned to a specific Dyer-Kelly classroom to purchase gifts.
To make it easier on families, cash and gift cards may be donated to purchase any necessary presents.
Toys will be collected in homeroom November and December.
We will get the presents wrapped & ready to be sent to the children before the holiday break.
We would love all students and families who are available to join in the fun!
Other donations needed to make this a success: wrapping paper, ribbon, and tape.
Thank you for your help and support!
