San Juan Unified celebrates National School Lunch Week starting Oct. 12

San Juan Unified School District will be celebrating National School Lunch Week from Oct. 12-16. The theme, “Now Playing: School Lunch!” puts the spotlight on the importance of a healthy school lunch in a child’s life.

Meals provided will include special entrees each day in celebration of the “Now Playing: School Lunch!” movie theme. Students are encouraged to come dressed as their favorite movie character when picking up meals.

“School lunches offer students fruits and vegetables, whole grains and milk, and meet federal nutrition standards limiting fat, calories and sodium,” said Sneh Nair, Director of Nutrition Services “National School Lunch Week helps us educate parents and students about all the wonderful benefits of our lunch program.”
