Del Campo student finds her voice despite facing adversity: Karlyn Crnkovich’s #MySJStory

Karlyn Crnkovich, a senior at Del Campo High School, is getting ready to attend Menlo College in the fall.

During her four years at Del Campo, Crnkovich wore many hats. Through her memberships with AVID, P.R.I.D.E. P.A.K., and many other school and district-wide clubs, she became a vocal leader.

In addition to her school roles, she juggled a full-time job and looked after her three siblings. It’s hard to imagine that during this time, she was also dealing with homelessness and struggling to find herself.

“The fact that I was so lost for so long has made me so confident in who I am today and what I’m doing,” said Crnkovich. She has turned her pain into power and wants to encourage others to find their own voice.
