DC Daily Wins Big at 2019 SEVAs

Del Campo's student produced, live broadcast news program took home two SEVA awards and one Honorable Mention at the 2019 Student Educational Video Awards or SEVAs on May 5th.  The first award of the evening went to Julia Sanders, Bree Maslianka and Connor Slayman for their Honorable Mention awarded news story titled, "What the Helicopter".  That was quickly followed up with a SEVA Awarded to Marissa Silvers, Justin Schneider and Connor Slayman for their news package titled, Academic Decathlon".  The Documentary category was won by Jacob Dean and Karlyn Crncovich for their film titled, "Karlyn's Strive for Equality".  Overall, it was a great night for DC Daily as the program had 8 finalists out of the 17 films submitted.  

The SEVA awards is the region's premier educational video contest attracting roughly 500 entries from Sacramento and surrounding counties. 2019 was the 30th annual SEVA awards contest.
