Cohort A and B: Fill out and return the "School and Family Compact" to your 1st Period Teacher
Good afternoon El Camino Community,
We are pleased to share that as of yesterday, Sacramento County officially reached the red tier of the state’s COVID-19 risk assessment system. This means that starting the week of March 22, El Camino students will have the option to return to in-person learning in a hybrid format. The hybrid bell schedule for El Camino can be found as an attachment to this message. Please note the start and end times of all classes for your student’s cohort (A, B, or C). Also, in an effort to make the return go smoothly, we have attached an El Camino campus map for your reference that students can use to map out their classes.
Yesterday, in a district message you should have received a digital copy of the district’s welcome packet, which includes reminders on safety practices as well as guidance on safety rules and policies put in place specific to the pandemic.
Several plans have been put in place to ensure the safe return of our students and staff onto campus. You can find the San Juan Unified districtwide COVID Safety Plan at by clicking here. The El Camino site-specific Safety Information Google Slides can be found by clicking here, and the El Camino site-specific COVID safety plan can be found by clicking here.
Planning for our return has already been underway at El Camino. We are currently offering in-person, small cohort orientations for our freshmen/new students. Also, we will hold a Q/A forum on Thursday, March 18, from 5:00 – 6:00 pm regarding the safety measures that have been put in place at El Camino. These are already outlined in the COVID Safety Plan/Information Google Slides that are attached, but please join us if you have additional or more specific questions. The Zoom link for tomorrow’s Q&A session can be found at the bottom of this message. We would encourage you to take part in learning more about these plans to help you become more aware of all the steps we have taken to provide a safe return to in-person learning.
We are excited to have this opportunity to return to in-person learning for those families who are choosing to do so. We are also excited to work with those students who are remaining in Cohort C for distance learning. Any students who wish to move to Cohort C should contact Vice Principal Jennifer Petersen at email@example.com. Our teachers and staff have been hard at work to make this transition possible. We look forward to this wonderful opportunity to expand our schedule to now include in-person learning.
Attached please find the Return to In-Person Learning: School and Family Compact. Please review this document, sign and date, and have your student turn it in to their first period teacher.
