Chromebook Distribution

 

 

Hello Encina families,

San Juan Unified is deploying a plan for distance learning as our schools remain closed under the advisement of public health officials to mitigate the spread of COVID-19 in our community.

To help students stay connected to their classmates and teachers, we are encouraging each student to have access to a computer with internet access. If you have a laptop or desktop in your home for each of your students that is capable of internet access via a modern web browser, you are welcome to use your own device.  We are also making Chromebook devices available that will allow students to log in to student email, Google Classroom and receive teacher instruction and assignments.

Our Technology Services team will be signing-out Chromebooks to students that need them at Encina, located at 1400 Bell Street, between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Thursday, March 26. Students must bring their school ID to check out a device. Parents/guardians that arrive without their student present must bring their own ID or driver’s license to receive a Chromebook for a student. If an ID is not available, a utility bill or mortgage statement to your home may be accepted if the name and address match the school’s information on record.

When you arrive, go to the library  to receive a device and an information packet about the device, available tech support, and internet access resources.
