SacRT Ryde Free Program for Students Extended through Sept. 30

San Juan Unified TK through 12* students who live or go to school within SacRT service boundaries are eligible for the RydeFreeRT program, which has been extended through Sept. 30, 2021.

All a student needs to ride for free is a school ID card or a RydeFreeRT card. A sticker is not required to ride. Student ID cards from 2019-2020 or 2020-2021 are accepted.

Ryde Free Cards are available from several local libraries: Arden-Dimick, Arcade, Carmichael, Fair Oaks, Orangevale, Sylvan Oaks. Visit www.saclibrary.org/Locations for hours of operation. Students can also visit SacRT’s Customer Service and Sales Center located at 1225 R Street in Sacramento (currently open limited hours; please call in advance at (916) 557-4685).

RydeFreeRT is valid on all SacRT buses, light rail, and SmaRT Ride microtransit service within SacRT service areas.

*Note: The RydeFreeRT program does not apply to those over 18 years old that are pursuing their GED.
