Summer Camp Job Opprotunity

SUMMER CAMP JOBS AVAILABLE for students 16 years or older. 

Camp Winthers is now accepting applications for tent counselors.  If you are interested in working with children in a rustic outdoor setting, come to the high school counseling center for an application and details or call Camp Winthers at 971-7577.

 

Applications are now available for tent counselor positions at Camp Winthers for the 2019 summer.  Details of the job are as follows:

 

Description of Program: Summer camp programs are conducted at the San Juan Unified School District's residential outdoor education facility, Camp Winthers; each session is five or six days.

 

Rate of pay: $125.00 per week for tent counselors.  Counselor-in-training (CIT) volunteer.

 

Dates of Program:  July 1- August 10, number of weeks worked will depend on enrollment, weather and type of program.

 

Dates of Required Orientation:  June 26- June 28

Job Qualifications:  Must be at least 16 years of age and enjoy working with children in a rustic outdoor setting.  You must know how to swim and can hike several miles a day at 7,000 feet. CIT must be 15 years of age at start of camp.

 

Job Responsibilities:  Supervise a group of 5-7 children, ages 9-13, for 24 hours a day, 5 days a week up to 6 weeks of the summer.

 

Location of Camp Winthers:  Near Soda Springs in the Donner Summit area, transportation from San Juan Unified School District in Carmichael will be provided.
