It's time to enroll your child in kindergarten or participate in the transitional kindergarten lottery.

San Juan Unified offers a nurturing environment for young learners to explore and grow. We have a variety of part-day and full-day options for transitional kindergarten and kindergarten for the 2023-24 school year. These flexible, research-based programs give your child the foundation needed for a successful future.

Transitional Kindergarten

Students will need to be 5 years old between Sept. 2, 2023 and April 2, 2024 to qualify for Transitional Kindergarten (TK) for the 2023-24 school year. 

TK enrollment for the 2023-24 school year will be conducted as a lottery. The TK lottery application process will be posted at www.sanjuan.edu/TK starting on Feb. 13 at 8 a.m. and will run through March 17 at 5 p.m.  The lottery drawing results will be emailed to families that participated on or before March 31 and the email will come from a PowerSchool email account.

Visit www.sanjuan.edu/TK for a list of schools that will be offering TK next school year. Please note that if a student attends TK at a school that is not their resident school, they are not guaranteed a spot at the school for kindergarten.

Kindergarten

Students that will be 5 years old on or before Sept. 1, 2023 can register for Kindergarten for the 2023-24 school year. Enrollment for the next school year begins on Feb. 6 at 8 a.m. Families can enroll their child through our online enrollment process. Through this option, parents can upload the required enrollment documents such as proof of age document, immunization records, and proof of address verifications directly through their online enrollment request.
