April 22: Weekly COVID-19 Update

Case rates and testing positivity ticked up in Sacramento County this week. The adjusted case rate per 100,000 residents climbed by 1.2 to reach 9 cases while the testing positivity rate, adjusted for equity, reached 4.8 percent, an increase of 0.2 of a percentage point.

Share your thoughts on combating learning loss

Plans are being developed to provide support to help combat student learning loss due to the pandemic. Students, parents and community are invited to share their thoughts on what programs or efforts could help through a Thoughtexchange

If you haven’t participated in a Thoughtexchange before, you’ll have the chance to share as many thoughts and ideas on how learning loss can be addressed next year or this summer. Then, you’ll get to see what others have shared and rank whether those ideas resonate with you.

Just a couple of reminders this week…

A and B attendance groups combine on Monday

School and district staff were busy this week making final preparations to combine attendance groups A and B to allow for four days per week of in-person learning. Starting Monday, April 26, students in groups A and B will attend Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. Wednesday remains an asynchronous, enrichment and support learning day. All students and staff should be tested for COVID-19

Free asymptomatic COVID-19 testing remains available to all district students and staff. The California Department of Public Health and local health officials recommend that all students and staff test once every two weeks to help detect asymptomatic cases and prevent outbreaks.
